We can shoot in the studio or outdoors, as agreed, or with a themed backdrop. If you are interested in a themed family photo shoot, for example for Valentine's Day, Halloween, Christmas or another occasion, we will talk about the options in advance so that we have everything ready for it. During the photo shoot I will guide you and help you make your children laugh or otherwise catch their attention. A good mood and a happy family are the ideal combination for beautiful family shots.

How a family photo shoot works

A family photo shoot includes various combinations of group shots of parents, children, grandparents and possibly other family members and friends. If we agree in advance and you meet all the criteria, you can also bring your family pet along. We do these photo shoots mainly outdoors in nature and prepare for them thoroughly.

Where we shoot

We do family photo shoots in our studios, which we currently have in two locations, in Bratislava and in Svätý Jur. Outdoors, we shoot all over Slovakia. Photo shoots outside Bratislava are covered by our associated photographers. With each of them, you can rely on professionalism and a client-focused approach.

Communicate with your photographer

Before booking, make sure you and the photographer understand each other regarding your ideas, expectations and requirements. Discuss different photography styles, the clothes you want to wear and any special requests you have. You can also prepare a few ideas for compositions and scenes you would like to capture. If you don't have a specific idea, let us inspire you.

Nursery school photo shoots

Nursery school photo shoots can also be counted among family photo shoots. This is a specific kind of photo shoot that is planned for the whole morning. Together with our assistants, we bring all the necessary props, photo backdrops and lights to the nursery school and set them up for photographing the little ones. If the parents wish, we also dress the children, do their hair and, of course, make them laugh. There are times when we don't manage it despite our efforts, but we always offer the parents the option of photographing their child on a substitute date at the nursery school or directly in the studio. We usually also make a backstage video from such photo shoots.

In Bratislava, as well as in its surroundings, there are many beautiful places and settings for a family photo shoot. Here are some of our favourites:

OLD TOWN

A family photo shoot in the Old Town and its historic little streets is a perfect choice. Besides creating amazing shots here, we can enjoy the historic buildings and narrow streets as a backdrop for the photographs. A stroll along Michalská Street or around the castle provides an amazing setting for your pictures.

BY THE DANUBE

The Danube is another impressive backdrop for your family photo shoot. A walk along the riverbank offers amazing opportunities to capture spontaneous, natural photographs with the water in the background, like few other places in the area.

FLOODPLAIN FORESTS

Gorgeous! Here we always find something unique and create an original shot as far as the background is concerned. Children are great to photograph here because they are interested in every detail they come across in the forest. A photo shoot like this is always a good choice.

PHOTO SHOOT ON A BOAT

Everyone counts this experience among the unforgettable ones. It is recommended for slightly older children who already go to school. During such a photo shoot we always make sure safety comes first and the rules are followed. Every crew member gets a life jacket and must follow all safety rules. With the boat we always make a few stops at secluded places with beaches where we can snap beautiful shots. A family photo shoot on a boat must be booked at least 6 weeks in advance and takes place only in the summer months on warm days.

Tips for a family photo shoot

We recommend coordinating your colours for the group photo shoot. Choosing the outfits is very important. You don't need to wear exactly the same colours; rather, avoid striking colours with different patterns. It is enough to choose, for example, one common pattern or colour that every family member will wear. You can't go wrong with the time-tested classic: jeans and a plain top, or white shirts. The resulting effect looks more elegant and nicer overall.

A funny story from a family photo shoot

During one great family photo shoot, we first witnessed a small sibling squabble, which grew into a mild scuffle, and in the end the whole family joined in. Of course, it wasn't a real fight between the parents, but it resulted in brilliant and quite funny photographs. The family had a great time in the end and even wrote us a positive review 🙂

In the studio we have dresses, tops, hair and other accessories for little girls and elegant ties for little boys. All special photo shoots, whether on a boat or in other terrain, are agreed in advance, including the conditions.

A classic family photo shoot takes approximately 45 – 90 minutes, depending on the number of people, themes and photographs ordered.
